Synopsis:
Set in an alternate version of Japan’s Meiji Era, humans and demons co-exist together in an uneasy peace. As demons are regulated by the government and required to be licensed in order to live in the city, the devious Tsubame Squad resent the new law’s and feel that demons are being deprived of their freedom. The Kidou Shinsengumi, a trio of skilled female fighters, are responsible for arresting unlicensed demons and defending the town against the Tsubame Squad’s wacky plots. The son of the Shinsengumi’s owner, Sakamoto Ryuunosuke, arrives in town with his monster cat, Nekomaru, and saves the Shinsengumi with an unexpected act of kindness. Hilarious antics and other here-brained schemes soon occur when the three Shinsengumi members try every means they can imagine in order to prevent Ryuunosuke from leaving Japan and returning to Shanghai.
