Simultaneously released in Japan, Freedom unleashes a revolution in next generation animation, seamlessly combining 2D and 3D graphic to weave an epic tale of repression-and revolt. Directed by rising superstar ShuheiMorita (Kakurenho-Hide & Seak), FREEDOM – an awardwinner at the 2007 Tokyo International Anime Fair. FREEDOM, was commisioned with Katsuhiro Otome the of Akira and Steamboy fame-serving as the character and mecha designer. The theme song for the series, titled “This is Love”, is performed by popular Japanese pop singer Utada Hikaru. A second song, Kiss & Cry, are Utada Hikaru’s 19th Japaese single.
